LIKABALI, Jun 19: Newly elected Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Kardo Nyigyor was accorded a warm reception by officers and officials along with the general public of Lower Siang district upon his arrival at Likabali on Tuesday.

Lower Siang deputy commissioner Rujjum Rakshap led in welcoming the deputy speaker, who was on his maiden official tour to his home constituency.

Nyigyor, who was re-elected for a third consecutive term as Likabali MLA, praised the officials of the district for conducting the simultaneous assembly and Lok Sabha polls peacefully in the district.

Though it was the maiden election conducted by the district after Lower Siang was conferred with the responsibility of independent district election office, the office managed the elections in a very professional, transparent and peaceful manner, he said.

Hinting at the need for work culture and work quality, the deputy speaker mooted for convening a coordination meeting of all departments soon to bolster a proper framework of developmental strategies and come out with a progressive roadmap for the district.

He further reiterated his commitments to complete the ongoing projects and address the waterlogging problem of the Liru village and other vulnerable areas of the township, the projects for which has already been sanctioned.

On behalf of all, deputy commissioner Rakshap welcomed Nyigyor.

Congratulating him on being assigned an important task, the DC wished the deputy speaker to shoulder the new responsibility with ease and dedication.
