NAMSAI, Jul 9: As part of the ongoing Sampoornata Abhiyan campaign, a two-day capacity building training for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) was conducted on July 8 and 9 at the Circuit House Hall in Namsai and Piyong Community Hall.

A total of 118 AWWs from the Namsai block participated in the training program, which was facilitated by Trideep Dole. The event aimed to saturate health and nutrition key performance indicators (KPIs).

The training included verification of the number of pregnant women using data provided by medical sources, ASHA, and AWWs. This data was also updated in the Poshan Tracker to ensure accuracy. Discussions addressed data discrepancies on the Poshan Tracker and methods for accurate data entry.

Key topics covered included Take Home Ration (THR), community-based events, Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND), measurement efficiency, hot-cooked meals (HCM), home visits, immunization, pregnancy and delivery, pre-school education, and supplementary food distribution.

The current KPIs on nutrition for pregnant women receiving supplementary nutrition under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) were reviewed, and a roadmap was prepared to achieve 100 percent saturation by September.

Record-keeping mechanisms and documentation on various parameters were also discussed during the training. The program was attended by Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), officials from the ICDS department, supervisors, Gram Sevika, ICDS mentors, Anganwadi Workers, and the Piramal Foundation Team of Namsai.
