ITANAGAR, Jul 30: The Pachin government secondary school in Naharlagun has become India's first 3D-printed educational institution.
The school, which was destroyed by a fire, was reconstructed using innovative 3D printing technology in just two months.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu who took to his X handle to share the news said: "Government Secondary School, Pachin, Itanagar, becomes India’s first 3D Printed School. Devoured by fire, the school was rebuilt in just two months!"
The Chief Minister lauded all those involved in the project.
"I heartily compliment everyone engaged in creating a watershed moment in our collective efforts to offer a cost-effective, sustainable, and rapid solution to the educational needs of our students. With the help of state-of-the-art facilities, we can make education more accessible to remote and underserved communities," he said.
Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein also commended the dedication and innovation in rebuilding the school.
“With advanced facilities now in place, we are determined to bring quality education to all. Congratulations to everyone involved!” he said in a social media post.
The use of 3D printing technology in construction is transforming the industry by making it cheaper and faster to build structures.
3D construction printing (3DCP or 3DP) refers to the automated process of manufacturing construction elements or entire structures using a 3D printer.
