Itanagar, Jan 29: Continuing the ongoing crackdown against narcotics under Operation Dawn 2.0, Arunachal Pradesh police on Tuesday arrested two inter-state drug peddlers and seized 7 grams (approx.) worth Rs 7000 from their possession at Borum near here.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team was formed with inspector T Mai leading the operation, Naharlagun superintendent of police Mihin Gambo said on Wednesday.

The team apprehended Diluar Hussain (35) and Aminur Ali (19), both from Assam while they were attempting to sell narcotics in Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), he said.

The SP said five vials of suspected heroin were recovered from their possession in presence of Naharlagun SDPO Rishi Longdo.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Papu Hills police station and further investigation is ongoing, he said.

Appreciating the police team for their swift action, Gambo has reaffirmed the police’s commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in the ICR.
