Anini, Feb 4: As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC), on Tuesday handed over an ultrasound machine to the district hospital at Anini, in Dibang Valley district.
The handover ceremony was attended by MLA Mopi Mihu, deputy commissioner Pagli Sora, NHPC officials, district medical officer (DMO), medical superintendent (MS) of the hospital, among others.
The availability of the ultrasound machine in the district is expected to significantly alleviate the suffering of patients and pregnant women, who previously had to travel 230 kilometers to the nearest town for such facilities.
The machine will also play a vital role in the early detection of life-threatening diseases, thereby improving healthcare outcomes in the area.
Speaking at the event, Mihu congratulated the hospital authorities for this crucial development and encouraged NHPC to continue their noble initiatives.
He also emphasized the importance of effectively utilising hospital equipment and called for periodic training programs to keep hospital technicians updated with the latest knowledge and skills.
The development marks NHPC's second major contribution to the district, following the construction of boys’ and girls’ hostels at the Ranli government residential school under the Arzoo circle.
NHPC is currently executing the Dibang Multipurpose Project in the Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts, furthering its commitment to community development.
