Likabali, Feb 6: As a part of the six-week celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, the department of Women and Child Development in collaboration with the Lower Siang district administration and police conducted a bike rally of women police officers on Thursday.
Lower Siang deputy commissioner Rujjum Rakshap and SP Gothombu Dajangju and others flagged off the event at Likabali.
The rally aimed to raise awareness and educate citizens about gender bias and improve the efficacy of welfare services for girls. It advocates women empowerment and highlights the significance of the girl child in society, encouraging them to realise their potential and make a mark for themselves in all sectors at par with their male counterparts.
