Itanagar, Feb 26: Governor K T Parnaik has highlighted the state's business-friendly environment, tourism potential, and hydropower capacity at the ET Now Business Conclave & Awards in New Delhi.
Addressing industry leaders, policymakers, and experts in the conclave on Tuesday, Parnaik emphasised state’s strategic advantages, including its stability, infrastructure development, and investor-friendly policies.
The governor highlighted Arunachal Pradesh as the only state in the region unaffected by terrorism, fostering an environment conducive to aggressive development, an official statement said here on Wednesday.
He detailed key infrastructure advancements, such as expanding road networks to first villages and enhancing 4G connectivity. Additionally, he noted the state’s position as India’s largest kiwi producer, with plans for exports.
On the tourism sector, Parnaik described Arunachal Pradesh as a land of unparalleled natural beauty, positioning eco-tourism, religious tourism, and adventure tourism as key economic drivers.
He also underscored the state's massive hydropower potential, with a capacity of 58,000 mw, nearly 40 per cent of India's total.
“Project like the Dibang Multipurpose Hydro Project (2880 MW) are expected to generate over ?10,000 crore in annual revenue once fully operational,” he pointed out.
The governor praised the tribal communities for their role in environmental conservation, reinforcing state’s status as a Green State. He also highlighted streamlined land acquisition policies and a single-window clearance system to attract investment.
He assured business leaders of his commitment to advising the state cabinet and bureaucrats on policies that enhance growth and welfare.
The governor also presented awards to outstanding business leaders and organizations across various sectors, including education during the event, the statement added.
