Itanagar, Feb 28: The state BJP on Friday expressed deep sorrow over the untimely passing of advocate Lompak Paksok, the party’s state convener of policy research and former president of Kisan Morcha.
Paksok breathed his last on Thursday at his residence in Daporijo, after a prolonged illness.
To honor his memory, the party organised a condolence meeting at its office, attended by BJP state unit president Kaling Moyong, vice presidents Tarh Tarak and Junty Singpho, general secretary Tadar Niglar, and other senior leaders.
Recognised as an intellectual and policy expert, Paksok played a pivotal role in strengthening the party’s research and policy initiatives. His efforts were instrumental in shaping strategies that benefited the people of the state.
During the meeting, party members and workers paid floral tributes to his portrait and observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect.
Kisan Morcha state president Gumsen Lollen highlighted Paksok’s invaluable contributions, emphasising his dedication to public service and his role in shaping policies for societal welfare.
Paksok served the party in multiple capacities, including as district president and general secretary.
Lollen also recalled Paksok’s significant role in collecting iron from Arunachal Pradesh, which was later sent to New Delhi for the construction of the Statue of Unity—the world’s tallest statue dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In a final act of service to society, Paksok’s mortal remains were donated to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) for educational and research purposes.
BJP state president Moyong, expressing profound grief, described Paksok as a true patriot, a selfless leader, and a guiding force within the party.
“His contributions to the BJP and his dedication to public service will always be remembered. His noble act of donating his body to medical science further reflects his lifelong commitment to knowledge and humanity,” Moyong stated.
The party extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of his soul, reaffirming its commitment to upholding his values and continuing his mission of service and development.
