Itanagar, Mar 4: In commemoration of International Women's Day, the Sports Authority of India, National Centre of Excellence (SAI NCoE) here, is organizing Fit India women's week from March 3 to 9, in collaboration with Arunodaya University.
The initiative is in line with the national Fit India movement and aims to promote health, fitness, and empowerment among women through a series of engaging activities.
The week-long celebration at the varsity, will include various fitness-driven and awareness programs designed to inspire and educate women on leading an active, safe, and healthy lifestyle.
Activities planned for the event include a programme on diet and nutrition, sports activities, and fitness sessions to encourage participation in sports and recreational exercises. There will also be self-defense and martial arts training aimed at empowering women with essential self-defense techniques.
A debate competition on the topic of women will be conducted to foster discussions and awareness about women's issues. Additionally, mental health and wellness programs, along with yoga sessions led by experts, will focus on promoting physical and mental well-being.
To further motivate and encourage female students of Arunodaya University as well as the local women community, Femina Miss India Arunachal Pradesh, Tadu Lunia, has consented to grace the event on March 7, next.
