Itanagar, Mar 6: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in collaboration with PARAKH, NCERT, organized a two-day workshop on the implementation of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) on March 5 and 6 at the SCERT Conference Hall. The workshop aimed to introduce competency-based, student-centric assessment methodologies in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Inaugurating the workshop, SCERT director Toko Babu emphasized the importance of shifting from traditional evaluation methods to a holistic assessment approach that captures students’ overall growth and learning outcomes. He stated that this initiative aligns with Mission Shikshit Arunachal and reinforces the state’s commitment to educational reforms. He urged educators to take responsibility for implementing meaningful evaluation practices to comprehensively track students' progress.
The workshop was led by CEO of PARAKH, Indrani Bhaduri, along with resource persons Mani Solanki and Bidisha Mazumder from PARAKH, NCERT.
Participants included teachers and Block Education Officers (BEOs) from all 28 districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Sessions focused on the philosophy of the HPC, its alignment with NEP 2020, and the development of competency-based assessments across different school stages. Hands-on activities, rubric development exercises, and discussions were conducted to guide participants on effective student-centric assessments. A pre- and post-assessment was also carried out to evaluate participants' knowledge gained from the sessions.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from SCERT deputy director DY Ringu, who acknowledged the contributions of PARAKH, NCERT, resource persons, and participants for their active engagement in promoting educational reforms.
