Itanagar, Mar 7: A state-level sensitization workshop was organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office of NABARD here on Friday.
The workshop was organized to generate awareness on the Agri Clinic and Agri Business Centre (ACABC) scheme of the government of India.
The credit linked back-ended subsidy scheme of the central government is being implemented with the objective of supporting the agricultural graduates in taking up activities in agricultural extension.
NABARD general manager D Mishra, emphasized the significance of the ACABC scheme.
With the twin objective of providing extension services and providing self-employment opportunities to agri-graduates, he urged the stakeholders to mobilise proposals under the scheme.
Mishra mentioned that the state offers good potential for coverage activities in the allied sector and also in agri-tourism.
He impressed upon the stakeholders for a greater role for coordination and creation of awareness, so that the target beneficiaries can avail benefits under the scheme.
A representative from MANAGE, a Hyderabad-based organisation providing training to potential agri-preneurs, also attended the meeting and guided the deliberation.
Utilising the forum, NABARD officials also made presentations on various schemes like e-Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (e-NWR), e-Kisan Upaj Nidhi yojana (e-KUN), e-KCC, Agri UDAN and PM Internship Scheme. Progress under the PMFME scheme was also reviewed jointly by officials from the Industries department and NABARD.
The workshop was attended by the SLBC convenor, banks, officials from agriculture & horticulture departments, academicians including professors from RGU, NERIST, etc., a few agri-preneurs and students.
