Khonsa, Mar 11: A one-day training programme on laboratory equipment, processes, and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) was conducted for laboratory technicians from Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts. The training, organized by the Directorate of Medical Education (T&R), was held at General Hospital, Khonsa, with 36 laboratory technicians participating.

The training was facilitated by resource persons including M Borah from Dibrugarh, P Siva Kishore from Tripura, and Ananda Kumar from Naharlagun. The event was attended by Bombei Tayeng, State Nodal Officer for Training, who emphasized the importance of capacity-building initiatives for healthcare professionals.

The sessions covered laboratory safety and biosafety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and emergency response measures. Quality control and assurance in laboratory testing were highlighted, with discussions on maintaining accuracy and reliability in diagnostics. A detailed session on laboratory equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance provided hands-on training to participants. The programme also focused on laboratory testing procedures, covering various diagnostic tests and their applications.

Medical superintendent of Khonsa General Hospital T Basar commended the participants for their active involvement, emphasizing the role of skilled laboratory technicians in ensuring efficient healthcare services.

The training concluded with an evaluation session, where participants provided feedback on the learning outcomes and discussed ways to implement best practices in their respective healthcare facilities.
