Naharlagun, Mar 17: An awareness camp on mental health and TeleManas was conducted at Arunodaya University, Lekhi, under the National Mental Health Program. The event aimed to promote mental health awareness and educate students and faculty members about the available mental health support systems in the state.
Registrar of Arunodaya University, KK Jha, delivered the welcome address.
Assistant nodal officer of NMHP and in-charge of the State TeleManas Cell, Dr Hatobin Mai, spoke on the significance of mental health and outlined the facilities available under the program. He emphasized the role of TeleManas in providing accessible mental health support across the state.
Counsellor Jebi Kurdu highlighted common psychiatric disorders among young adults and stressed the importance of early intervention and awareness. She encouraged students to seek help when needed and to make use of the resources provided by the TeleManas Cell.
The session was attended by students and faculty members, who actively engaged in discussions on mental health challenges and the importance of addressing them. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve mental health awareness and accessibility to mental health services in the state.
