Boleng, Mar 20: A coordination meeting with political parties was held at the office of the District Election Officer (DEO) in Boleng under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-DEO PN Thungon. The discussion focused on ensuring an error-free electoral roll through collaborative efforts between political parties and election officials.

The deputy commissioner emphasized the importance of accuracy in the electoral roll, stating that discrepancies at polling stations primarily affect both political parties and officials during elections. He urged political parties to actively participate in the enrollment process by appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to assist in identifying and correcting errors at an early stage.

He also sought the cooperation of political parties in detecting and eliminating duplicate entries to maintain the integrity of the electoral process. Representatives from various political parties welcomed the initiative, acknowledging the significance of such meetings in strengthening coordination between election officials and political stakeholders. They also called for regular discussions to enhance collaboration.

Officials addressed queries from political party representatives regarding the electoral roll, enrollment procedures, and the role of BLAs, ensuring clarity on these aspects.
