Pasighat, Apr 9: The East Siang district unit of the Adi Students' Union (AdiSU) has urged the Public Works Department (PWD) Pasighat Division to expedite the deployment of men and machinery for the “Improvement of Road from Pasighat to Remi (20 km)” project, citing undue delays and negligence by the construction agency, M/s ATW Private Limited.

In a memorandum submitted to the executive engineer of PWD Pasighat Division, the AdiSU expressed concern over the prolonged delay in the project’s execution, despite clear terms outlined in the agreement. The union stated that the incomplete work has caused significant inconvenience to daily commuters and the general public, while the deteriorating road condition poses a threat to safety and hampers connectivity in the area.

It urged the PWD to intervene immediately to ensure adequate deployment of manpower and machinery to speed up the work. It also warned that failure to meet their demand would compel the union to launch a democratic movement against the department.

The union emphasized that their demand is made in the larger public interest, seeking swift and positive action from the authorities.
