Khonsa, Apr 9: The 36 Battalion CRPF on Wednesday observed Shaurya Diwas (Valour Day) with solemn pride and patriotic fervor, paying tribute to the courage and supreme sacrifice of India’s brave soldiers.
The event, held at the battalion headquarters here, honored the memory of martyrs and inspired troops to carry forward their legacy of valor.
As part of the ceremony, Commandant L Lhoujem felicitated veer nari Chasan Dada, wife of martyr Hangpan Dada, of 3 Para SF, and the father of martyr Hugu Chimyang of the 4 Assam Regiment.
They were honoured with traditional shawls in recognition of their immense sacrifice for the nation.
Floral tributes were offered at the Martyrs’ Memorial, followed by an address from Commandant Lhoujem, who recounted the bravery of soldiers during the battle at Sardar and Tak Post.
He urged CRPF personnel to draw strength from the heroic legacy of their fallen comrades and to continue serving the nation with unwavering dedication.
Shaurya Diwas, observed nationwide every year on April 9, marks the valour and patriotism of India’s security forces who risk and often lay down their lives to safeguard the country.
