Itanagar, Apr 18: Police in Itanagar successfully solved a theft case and recovered the entire stolen amount of Rs 1 lakh within two days, bringing timely relief to the victim.

The case was reported on April 16, when one Hura Karuk of Chambang, Kra Daadi district, lodged a complaint at the Itanagar police station. He stated that Rs 1 lakh, which he had kept inside his Bolero vehicle while attending to his ailing child at R K Mission Hospital, was stolen by unknown miscreants around 6:30 pm.

Following the registration of a case under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, an investigation was launched under the supervision of Itanagar SDPO, Kengo Dirchi.

A team, led by inspector Khiksi Yangfo and sub-inspector Tatung Tari initiated a swift operation involving the tracking of habitual offenders and the use of both technical and human intelligence.

Based on surveillance inputs, the police apprehended one Biki Biswakarma (32), a resident of Sripani Deori Gaon in Dhemaji district of Assam. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and led the police to the recovery of the entire stolen amount.

The recovered cash was subsequently handed over to the complainant to support the medical treatment of his child.
