Mechukha, Apr 19: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday visited Mechukha in Shi-Yomi district to review key development projects in the healthcare and tourism sectors.

Accompanied by Tourism minister Pasang Dorjee Sona, Khandu inspected the newly constructed Community Health Centre (CHC) and interacted with medical staff. He assured them of the government’s continued support to strengthen healthcare services in the remote region.

Appreciating the warm hospitality of the people of Mechukha, the chief minister lauded Sona’s commitment to the development of the area and his leadership in spearheading various initiatives.

Khandu also visited the under-construction Mechuka Cultural Haat, a project being developed under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. The cultural hub aims to preserve and promote the diverse heritage of the indigenous tribes of Arunachal Pradesh by providing a platform to showcase local art, crafts, and traditions.

In addition, the chief minister reviewed the progress of the upcoming Mechuka Adventure Park, which is also being developed under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.

The park will feature adventure activities such as ziplining, wall climbing, and ATV rides, aimed at promoting eco-tourism and creating avenues for youth engagement.

“These projects will not only boost healthcare and tourism infrastructure but also contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Mechukha,” Khandu said during the visit.
