Kadu, Apr 21: The inaugural edition of the two-day Hingen River Valley moto off-road event (HRM) 2025, organised by the Motor Sports Association of Arunachal (MAA), concluded on a high note at Kadu Village in Koyu circle of Lower Siang district.

Held from April 19 to 20, the event drew a large crowd and was marked by energetic participation, roaring engines, and an enthusiastic display of sportsmanship.

The final day was graced by the Sports & Youth Affairs minister Kento Jini, who was accompanied by Nari Koyu MLA Tojir Kadu, who served as the chief patron of the event. Also present were senior officials including the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police of the district, Koyu circle ZPM, EAC, Kadu HGB, and several heads of departments, PRI members, and other dignitaries.

In his address, Jini applauded the efforts of the organisers, especially the MLA, for the successful conduct of HRM in its first edition. He encouraged the team to make HRM a recurring calendar event and assured continued support from the state government in future editions.

The minister also urged the people of Koyu circle to engage in initiatives that can generate employment opportunities locally and contribute to the economic upliftment of the area.

Jini further appreciated the decision to declare HRM 2025 an alcohol-free event, commending the MLA, for taking the lead in promoting such a healthy and disciplined environment.

He suggested that similar practices should be adopted in other festivals across the state to foster a culture of wellness and genuine sportsmanship.

Adding to the excitement, the Arunachal Super Bike Club (ASBC), led by chief patron Dr Gomi Basar, made a striking appearance on the track. With riders like Komni Riba and others, the team showcased high-powered machines including a Ducati Panigale V4, BMW S1000 RR, and Kawasaki Ninja ZX 6R.

The thunderous exhausts and sleek rides drew enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

Dr Basar praised the choice of location and acknowledged the efforts of the organising team, highlighting the region’s suitability for off-road adventure sports.

Public leader Takar Ringu also expressed his delight at the success of the event, noting that such initiatives have the potential to promote the area as a hub for adventure tourism and provide avenues for employment, especially for local youth.

Women Wing President of the Ramle Banggo Welfare Society Bamen Doye Kadu, also shared her appreciation, stating that HRM 2025 has placed Kadu village on the map and carries immense potential for future growth.

The final day saw both the minister and the MLA take part in trial runs along the 1.8-kilometre off-road track, navigating the twists and bumps in their 4x4 off-roaders to the thrill of the spectators.

As the sun dipped, the final and most anticipated stages of the 4x4 off-road and motocross competitions unfolded before a roaring crowd.

In the 4x4 category, Bharat Lego and co-pilot Milo Minong Rukbo clinched the top spot after a fierce battle, finishing with a score of 6.54. They were closely followed by Nini Dupak and co-pilot Zabaika Darang with a score of 6.57, while Kenson Bam and Dogo Bam secured third place with a score of 7.01.

Meanwhile, in the motocross segment, Riko Kunyo emerged as the winner, with Rasar Borang and Amos Fachang taking second and third places respectively.
