Itanagar, Apr 22: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) is set to make history with the launch of Arunachal Pradesh’s first rural business incubation centre (RuBIC), a pioneering initiative funded by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

The centre, aimed at empowering rural entrepreneurship in agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors, will be inaugurated on Wednesday.

State Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry minister Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, will inaugurate the centre. He will be joined by RGU vice chancellor Prof S K Nayak, NABARD chief general manager Partho Saha, and other dignitaries.

Located within the lush, eco-friendly campus of RGU in Doimukh, RuBIC marks a significant step toward nurturing grassroots innovation. The centre is envisioned as a cradle for rural startups, community-based enterprises, and agri-preneurs. It will provide mentorship, training, funding access, and business development support, with a focus on ideas that improve livelihoods and infrastructure in rural Arunachal Pradesh.

In collaboration with NABARD, RGU aims to build a self-sustaining entrepreneurial ecosystem that draws on indigenous knowledge and local resources. RuBIC’s mission aligns with the vision of “Atma Nirbhar Arunachal” by promoting sustainable and inclusive enterprise creation in the region.
