New Delhi, Apr 23: Elvish Yadav found himself in hot water last year after allegedly making racist remarks against Bigg Boss 18 contestant and actress Chum Darang during a podcast. The YouTuber faced severe backlash online, with social media users slamming him for his offensive comments. His remarks were also strongly condemned by the Arunachal Pradesh State Women’s Commission (APSCW).

Now, in the latest development, Elvish appeared at the National Commission for Women (NCW) office in Delhi on Tuesday, April 22, after being summoned for questioning. During his visit, he issued an apology for his comments.

After coming out of the NCW office, Elvish Yadav addressed the media and issued a public apology. He said, "Jaise jaise hum life mein grow karte hai, aage badhte hain toh maturity aati hai aur joh Chum wala tha usme bohot saarein log aise hai jinko mera intentions samajh nahi aaya."

(As we grow in life and age, we also gain maturity. Regarding the Chum incident, many people didn’t understand my intentions.)

He further said, "I agree that if people felt hurt by my words, then I must have said something wrong. That’s why, in this matter, I went inside and apologised. I don’t have anything personal against anyone, nor do I hold any grudges. I’ve submitted my apology."

For the uninitiated, the controversy started when Elvish Yadav made offensive comments during a podcast with fellow Bigg Boss 18 contestant Rajat Dalal. (ToI)
