Itanagar, Apr 23: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, held a one-day State-level Exhibition at DK Convention Centre, Yupia, on April 20. The event was organized to showcase Khadi and village industries products and to promote rural entrepreneurship under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana.

Organized by the state office of KVIC, Itanagar, the exhibition featured stalls displaying products manufactured by Khadi institutions, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) units, and artisans from across the state.

Deputy commissioner of Papum Pare, Jiken Bomjen, inaugurated the event and emphasized the importance of supporting Khadi and village industries as a means of empowering rural populations and boosting local economies. He noted that such exhibitions provide an important platform for entrepreneurs and artisans to access new markets.

KVIC state director, AK Panda, highlighted the objectives of the event, stating that the exhibition aimed to encourage entrepreneurship, create awareness about schemes under the Ministry of MSME, and promote Khadi and Village Industries products. He urged local entrepreneurs to take full advantage of government initiatives like PMEGP for self-employment and skill development.

The event also featured awareness sessions on various schemes and support systems available for artisans, self-help groups, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Attendees included representatives from financial institutions, district officials, and a significant number of artisans and entrepreneurs.

The exhibition concluded with a call to continue strengthening the ecosystem for khadi and village industries in the state, with a focus on sustainability, skill development, and enhanced market access for rural producers.
