Ziro, Apr 28: The family of late Corporal Tage Hailyang has extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army, government authorities, community organisations, and individuals who stood by them during their time of grief following the loss of the young soldier in Kashmir.
In a message issued by Rubu Buker on behalf of the bereaved family, special thanks were conveyed to the Indian Army in Kashmir for their immediate assistance and to the Indian Air Force for the swift and dignified transportation of Hailyang’s mortal remains. The family also expressed appreciation to Home Minister Amit Shah, who personally visited the site of the tragedy, and to the assistant resident commissioners in Guwahati and Tezpur for their coordination.
The family acknowledged the condolences and support extended by chief minister Pema Khandu, minister Gabriel D Wangsu, state BJP president Kaling Moyong, MLA Nakap Nalo, former minister Taba Tedir, former chief minister Nabam Tuki, inspector general of police Chukhu Apa, and Tussar Taba. They also thanked the fathers of Don Bosco College, Itanagar, for offering prayers for the departed.
Gratitude was also extended for condolence messages received from the governor and union minister Kiren Rijiju, and for the tireless assistance provided by the district administration and Police of Lower Subansiri district.
The family further thanked community-based organisations including Tanii Supuñ Dukuñ and others who offered messages of solidarity and participated in the ceremonies, alongside the people of Ziro, who came together to support the family.
The statement emphasised the family's deep appreciation for the Indian Air Force’s role in ensuring that Hailyang was given full military honours during his final rites.
The family concluded by stating that the prayers, presence, and words of comfort extended by many during this difficult time had provided strength and solace, and that Hailyang’s sacrifice, and the love shown towards him, would remain etched in their hearts.
