Itanagar, Apr 29: Home Minister Mama Natung on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in the tragic loss of 26 innocent lives.

Inaugurating the Donyi Polo Khumko (Nyedar Namlo) at Palove village in Pakke Kessang district, the minister expressed concern over the increasing influx of outsiders into Arunachal Pradesh.

In his address, the minister emphasised the need to protect the state's cultural and demographic identity, underscoring the importance of preserving the traditions and values that define Arunachal.

He also drew spiritual connections between the Donyi Polo faith and the Santhani traditions, highlighting their shared focus on nature worship and ancestral reverence.

Natung also announced the sanctioning of funds for the construction of a Nyubu Nyegam Nwrko (an indigenous Gurukul-style learning center) and the boundary wall of the newly inaugurated Namlo, reinforcing the commitment to support and preserve indigenous knowledge and practices.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several key dignitaries, including Pakke Kessang deputy commissioner Bani Lego and NMMR president R T Tara, as well as a large gathering of local residents.

The event commenced with the unveiling of the inauguration stone, followed by traditional Namlo Darkha rituals. A tree plantation ceremony was also held, symbolising the region’s deep reverence for nature and spiritual harmony.

Tayum Tok, during the proceedings, emphasised the deep-rooted connection of the Palove region to the Donyi Polo faith and its enduring significance in the community's cultural life.
