Itanagar, Apr 29: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youths Organization (AAPYO) has submitted a representation urging authorities not to transfer Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) deputy commissioner, Talo Potom, alleging that any move to do so would be based on "personal vendetta" and "invalid reasons."

In their memorandum, the organization praised Potom’s administrative record, describing his efforts as a continuation of the "yeoman service" he had previously rendered during his earlier tenure as DC of ICR.

They highlighted several initiatives undertaken under his leadership, including the streamlining of Right of Way (ROW) issues, eviction of illegal structures, and improved management of street vendors and parking zones.

The AAPYO noted that Potom had played a pivotal role in curbing rampant earth-cutting practices, which often caused severe flooding and damage to property during the monsoon season. His administration was also credited with strict implementation of building laws and the eviction of unauthorized occupants from government land.

Further, the organization cited Potom’s adoption of transparent land acquisition practices, promotion of e-governance initiatives such as the Jan Suvidha Kendras, and efforts to institutionalize public grievance redressal mechanisms and citizens’ charters as significant milestones achieved during his tenure.

The AAPYO contended that any premature transfer of Potom would deprive the ICR of a capable and efficient IAS officer committed to good governance. They also lauded his actions to regulate stray animals, which had earlier posed serious threats to public safety.

Appealing for Potom’s tenure to be allowed to continue uninterrupted, the organization stressed that his transfer without just cause would be detrimental to ongoing developmental activities and administrative reforms in the region.
