ITANAGAR, Apr 30: Governor KT Parnaik on Wednesday extended his greetings to the people of the state, particularly to the hardworking manual workers, the true builders of infrastructure, economy, and national progress, on the occasion of International Labour Day.
In his message, the governor said that globally observed as ‘May Day’, the occasion commemorates the historic struggle for fair labour practices. It serves as a powerful reminder of the need to uphold workers’ rights, ensure fair wages, promote safe working conditions, and eradicate forced labour. Above all, it is a day to honour the dignity of labour.
“In today’s dynamic and evolving economy, it is imperative that we empower our workforce to meet new challenges with skill, confidence, and resilience. At the same time, it is equally vital that workers continue striving for excellence, productivity, and quality in their contributions to our nation,” Parnaik said.
He further urged everyone to reaffirm their commitment to ensuring just wages, safety, and security for every worker, both in word and in action.
“Let us move forward with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas’, as envisioned by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to build a stronger, inclusive, and prosperous India, a Viksit Bharat,” the governor added.
