Ziro, May 3: Saint Claret College (Autonomous) Ziro (SCCZ) here, proudly celebrated the commencement ceremony for the Claretine class of 2025, honoring the achievements of 290 graduating students and distributing scholarships and awards worth ?3.66 lakh.

The event, held on Saturday in the college auditorium, featured inspiring addresses, award presentations, and heartfelt tributes to mark the culmination of the students’ academic journey.

Lower Subansiri additional deputy commissioner Himani Meena, urged graduates to stay grounded while forging ahead with courage. Reflecting on her own student life, she acknowledged the support of families and quoted lines from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s Rashmirathi to inspire the students.

Prof D Jeevan Kumar praised SCCZ for its academic excellence and encouraged students to remain adaptable in a rapidly evolving world, reminding them to explore diverse career options and remain resilient.

SCCZ vice principal Fr Arnest Kharmawlong, congratulated the batch and expressed hope for their future success. Valedictorian Tibom Tekwa from the Geography department delivered an emotional farewell speech, lauding the college and his peers.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of 30 students who secured ranks in the 2024 Rajiv Gandhi University examinations. Additionally, 81 students were honored with scholarships and awards for their academic and co-curricular achievements, including prestigious recognitions such as the SCCZ residential and academic scholarships, single step foundation scholarship, and several memorial awards.

The college also acknowledged the contributions of its Arunachal Yuva Samanvay contingents for their active roles at state and district levels.

Later in the day, a farewell programme was held to bid a warm goodbye to the outgoing Claretines, concluding the day with emotion and celebration.
