Itanagar, May 5: The All Arunachal Pradesh Gaon Bura & Gaon Buri Welfare Association (AAPGBGBWA) successfully conducted its fourth general conference-cum-election for the 2025–2030 session from May 4 to 5 at a city hotel here.

The election process was overseen by chief election commissioner Yumlam Khyoda, with the support of election commissioners Nabam Epo and Biki Tahi. Delegates from across the state, including head gaon buras (HGBs) and gaon buras (GBs), actively participated in the democratic proceedings.

At the conclusion of the election, the new executive members for the 2025–30 term were formally announced. Taring Potum was elected as the president, with Techi Bachan assuming the role of general secretary and Tai Pallang as convenor.

Other key appointments included Tame Libang as vice president for the eastern zone, Tamuk Pabin as general secretary for the eastern zone, Biki Tai and Gitam Saring as treasurers for the western and eastern zones respectively.

The women wing also saw the election of new leaders, with Tap Yatu taking charge as president, Teli Yama as vice president, and Omem Tasung Boko as convenor. The finance oversight team comprises Charu Tamang as chief auditor and Tokrik Yomming as auditor for the eastern zone.

The event concluded on a note of unity, reaffirming the association’s dedication to promoting the welfare and empowerment of the gaon bura and gaon buri community throughout the state.
