NAMSAI, May 7: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Office of the Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) and the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Namsai district, marking a major boost to the district’s administrative and law enforcement infrastructure.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mein said the new facilities will significantly enhance the operational efficiency of the civil police, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and ensure faster response to public concerns. He also lauded the Public Works Department (PWD) team for timely execution of the project.
Later in the day, Mein addressed a Carnatic music recital organised at the District Library, where he emphasised the importance of preserving and promoting Arunachal Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage and traditional art forms.
Lauding the young performers, the deputy chief minister said their dedication will inspire aspiring artists across the state. He also praised the efforts of the District Library Namsai, Bamboosa Library, and the Lohit Youth Library Network in inculcating reading habits among youth.
Reiterating his vision of making Namsai one of the cleanest districts in the state, Mein stressed the importance of simultaneously promoting cleanliness and reading culture.
The music recital, jointly organised by the District Library and Lohit Youth Library Network, was attended by Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom as Guest of Honour. Also present were Padma Shri awardee Sathyanarayanan Mundayoor, Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) P N Khrimey, Deputy Commissioner of Namsai, the Zilla Parishad Chairperson, SP, HoDs, and students from Blooming Birds School.
The performance featured the Wakro sisters, Ashapmai Dellang and Behelti Ama, accompanied by Gautam Narayan on the violin and Vasudevan M.M. on the Mridangam. Their soulful renditions captivated the audience and added a cultural flourish to the day’s events.
