Yingkiong, May 8: The Upper Siang district administration on Wednesday held a coordination meeting to finalise preparations for making the newly constructed academic-cum-residential campus of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) Yingkiong at Ramsing village functional from the 2025–26 academic session.

The meeting, chaired by deputy commissioner Talo Jerang, was attended by local MLA and advisor to the chief minister Alo Libang, zilla parishad chairperson, superintendent of police, heads of departments, public representatives, and members of women’s self-help groups.

Speaking at the meeting, Libang outlined efforts made to bring the VKV to Upper Siang and said the school would play a key role in providing quality education to students from diverse backgrounds. He called for collective support from all stakeholders to ensure the institution begins operations smoothly.

The deputy commissioner reviewed the status of repair and maintenance work assigned to the power, public health engineering, and public works departments. He instructed concerned officials to complete their respective tasks at the earliest to enable the school to open on schedule.

Jerang stressed the importance of VKV as a model educational institution and urged all government departments, civil society, and the general public to extend necessary assistance to facilitate its functioning. Attendees of the meeting expressed unanimous support for the initiative.
