Aalo, Jun 7: West Siang deputy commissioner Mamu Hage on Friday emphasised the need for timely completion of all central and state flagship programmes.

Chairing the monthly district level monitoring committee (DLMC) meeting here, she also issued several key directives during the meeting to streamline ongoing developmental works in the district.

Addressing the heads of departments and administrative officers, the DC instructed all executing departments to strictly adhere to deadlines and avoid any delay in implementing schemes.

She specifically stated that land compensation should not be entertained during bridge construction works. Any related issues must be immediately reported to the concerned administrative officers, given the importance of these projects.

Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), she urged the rural works department (RWD) to work closely with local panchayat leaders to prevent disturbances during road construction.

The progress of the material recovery facility (MRF), being developed by the urban development department, was also discussed. The DC directed the power department to promptly address electricity issues to ensure the MRF functions effectively, especially for the health department. On the health front, the deputy commissioner informed that West Siang has not reported any malaria cases in the past three years. She further instructed that under the Nikshay Mitra scheme, all tuberculosis (TB) patients in the district must be adopted by zilla parishad members (ZPMs) and heads of departments.

In a move to promote the Aalo beautification and clean township campaign, the DC ordered the identification of digital hoarding sites for advertisements and strictly prohibited the hanging of flex boards and banners in public spaces.

All departments were also instructed to remove their metal hoarding frames from Aalo township.

She also directed departments involved in the atma nirbhar scheme to hold separate meetings to ensure beneficiaries receive maximum support and benefit.

During the meeting, several major flagship schemes and ongoing projects were reviewed. A few projects remain incomplete due to technical issues, which were noted for resolution.

West Siang zilla parishad chairperson Tumpe Ete, also addressed the gathering, urging departments to maintain high quality standards in their work, stressing that public infrastructure is a vital asset for society.
