Itanagar, Jun 9: Athletes from Arunachal Pradesh bagged four medals at the 4th Cadet and Junior National Taekwondo Championship held from May 29 to June 1 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, marking a strong showing for the state at the national-level event.
The team from the Taekwondo Federation of Arunachal clinched one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in the tournament, which saw participation from athletes representing states across the country.
The team competed under the coaching of Mari Karbak. The medal haul was seen as a reflection of the growing interest and investment in martial arts in the state.
Officials from the federation expressed appreciation for the support received from parents, well-wishers, and sports enthusiasts and reiterated their commitment to developing Taekwondo in Arunachal Pradesh.
The performance is expected to encourage greater participation among youth in the sport and contribute to the state’s representation in future national and international competitions.
