Itanagar, Jun 9: The Arunachal Pradesh government has appointed Jummar Basar, APPS, as the new Superintendent of Police (SP), Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), while Dr Nyelam Nega, APPS, has been posted as SP, Naharlagun.
Basar replaces IPS officer Rohit Rajbir Singh, who had been holding the SP ICR charge, marking a return of the position to regular police cadre. The transfer orders were issued on Thursday following a meeting of the Police Establishment Board (PEB), according to an official notification by the Chief Secretary.
Dr Nega, who was previously serving as SP, Security, replaced Mihin Gambo, IPS, as the SP Naharlagun. Gambo has been transferred to Police Headquarters (PHQ) as SP, Special Branch.
The reshuffle, part of a wider reorganisation involving ten IPS and APPS officers, is aimed at improving field-level law enforcement in the rapidly expanding ICR.
Basar, who previously headed the Special Branch, brings a strong intelligence background and is expected to strengthen public order and ground-level coordination in the capital.
Dr Nega, known for his experience in high-security assignments, takes charge in Naharlagun, which serves as a critical suburban and transit zone within the capital complex.
In other appointments, Surendra Choudhary, IPS, has been posted as SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Itanagar while Singjatla Singpho, IPS, SP Tirap, has been posted as SP (Planning), PHQ.
Dusu Kaling, APPS, who was serving as SP (Planning), PHQ, has been appointed as the Principal of the Police Training Centre (PTC), Banderdewa.
Among other changes, Shivendu Bhushan, IPS, has been posted as SP, Crime/SIT, while Anurag Dwivedi, IPS, has been posted as SP, Anjaw. Aditya, IPS, currently ASP Tirap, has been promoted and posted as SP, Tirap.
Rike Kamsi, APPS, SP Anjaw, has been transferred as SP, Security.
The reshuffle is aimed at ensuring administrative efficiency and strengthening law and order in key districts, officials said.
