Yupia, Jun 9: Newly appointed Papum Pare deputy commissioner Vishakha Yadav, assumed office on Monday and underscored the vital role of ground-level staff in ensuring the smooth functioning of the district administration.
During an interaction with administrative officers and staff of the DC office establishment, Yadav described them as the ‘backbone of the administration’ and called for punctuality, dedication, and diligence in service delivery.
Highlighting the importance of teamwork, she stressed that coordination and cooperation among all officers and officials are key to providing efficient and effective public services.
She also proposed capacity building measures, including technical training for upper division clerks (UDCs) and lower division clerks (LDCs), to enhance the skills of the ministerial staff.
Yadav warned against unauthorised absenteeism, stating that it would be viewed seriously. She advised all personnel to seek prior permission for leave of absence, while assuring that her office would remain open to constructive suggestions for administrative improvement.
Expressing her commitment to the development and welfare of the people of Papum Pare, Yadav called for the full cooperation and support of all officers and staff in achieving these goals.
Yadav, a 2020-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, succeeds Jiken Bomjen, who superannuated in May this year.
A trailblazer in public service, she has received several accolades, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2024, and the State Award for Best Electoral Practices for her exemplary work during the simultaneous Assembly and Parliamentary elections in 2024.
