Itanagar, Jun 10: Papum Pare deputy commissioner Vishakha Yadav on Tuesday visited the Pare Hydro Power Station of NEEPCO Limited near here to assess operational readiness and review monsoon preparedness.

Accompanied by district disaster management officer, Nima Tashi, the DC inspected the dam site at Jampa and interacted with engineers and staff in the Dam Control Operation Room.

She later visited the powerhouse and switchyard at Sopo, engaging with the technical teams and commending their efforts in managing critical infrastructure.

A review meeting was held at the Powerhouse Conference Hall in Sopo, where NEEPCO presented a detailed PowerPoint briefing on flood preparedness and disaster management plans for the upcoming monsoon.

Officials highlighted concerns such as illegal mining, unregulated picnicking, and encroachments along the river and reservoir zones, seeking administrative intervention.

Yadav assured full support from the district administration and said that the issues raised would be addressed at the earliest.

She also inspected the Bailey bridge connecting Sopo and Lekhi villages, constructed using the Local Area Development Fund (LADF) of the Pare Project.
