Boleng, June 10: A review and coordination meeting with principals, headmasters, Block Education Officers (BEOs), BRCCs, CRCCs, examination in-charges, and head teachers of Siang district was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall here on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by deputy commissioner PN Thungon and convened to assess the performance in the recent CBSE Class X examinations and to discuss critical issues concerning the education sector in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Thungon emphasised the need for a coordinated and comprehensive approach to strengthen the education system. He underscored the importance of sincerity, punctuality, and discipline among educators, while urging officials to promote teamwork and motivation across schools.
Raising concern over the low pass percentages in mathematics and science, the deputy commissioner called for remedial measures, particularly at the foundational level in lower and upper primary schools. He also stressed the importance of maintaining strong student-teacher-parent relationships, regular organisation of School Management Committee (SMC), School Management and Development Committee (SMDC), and Parent-Teacher Meetings, as well as instilling good manners and work ethics in students.
Thungon further highlighted the need for improved hygiene among girl students and effective implementation of the PM Poshan scheme, along with proper maintenance of school records.
Deputy director of school (DDSE) Moli Tato, in his keynote address, urged teaching staff and education officials to remain committed and punctual to achieve better academic results in upcoming sessions.
Earlier, BEO (academic and development) Onil Taki welcomed the participants, and the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from district programme coordinator of ISSE, Tapon Mangkeng, who acknowledged the active participation and inputs of the attendees.
