Itanagar, Jun 11: The state skill development and entrepreneurship department, has dispatched the fourth batch of 14 trainees to the Drone Training Academy in Hyderabad, under the Chief Minister’s Yuva Kaushal Yojana (CMYKY).

This initiative aims to equip youth with high-end skills in emerging technologies through fully sponsored training.

So far, 42 trainees have successfully completed the drone training program and received certification and drone flying permits from the academy, recognised by the civil aviation ministry.

Under CMYKY, the department provides free training, covering all expenses including boarding, lodging, meals, and transportation.

The selected trainees will undergo a week-long training consisting of both theoretical and practical sessions. Upon completion, they will receive certification and a drone flying permit from the Academy.

The batch was flagged off from Naharlagun Railway Station on Wednesday by Skill Development and Entrepreneurship director Sibo Passing, and Jumbom Riba, assistant director.

Addressing the trainees, Passing urged them to take full advantage of the opportunity, emphasising discipline and the responsibility of representing the state positively.

Riba briefed the candidates on the dos and don’ts during the training and advised them to maintain team spirit and ensure a safe and comfortable journey, especially for those traveling outside the state for the first time.

He also encouraged them to pursue self-employment opportunities using their newly acquired drone skills.

The department has been consistently conducting such training sessions for the past few years. Candidates aged 18 to 65 years who have passed Class X are eligible to apply.
