Ziro, Jun 11: Oli Perme, the newly appointed deputy commissioner of Lower Subansiri district, held a review and interaction meeting with administrative officers, heads of departments, and the superintendent of police on Wednesday to assess the district's preparedness for the monsoon season and to discuss law and order issues.

With recent incidents of heavy rainfall and landslides reported across parts of the district, the meeting focused on strengthening the monsoon preparedness and disaster response mechanisms. Perme directed key infrastructure departments, including PWD, RWD, PHED, UD & Housing, and the Highway division, to remain on high alert and ensure availability of personnel and machinery for immediate deployment in case of emergencies.

She specifically instructed the Highway and PWD officials to ensure uninterrupted connectivity along National Highway 13, which is a critical route for neighbouring Kamle and Upper Subansiri districts.

The deputy commissioner also reviewed the status of essential supplies and instructed the DF&CSO and District Medical Officer to maintain sufficient stocks of food and medicines to handle any potential disruption during the monsoon.

Anticipating the possibility of emergency situations, Perme urged officers not to take leave or leave station without prior approval, except in medical emergencies.

During the meeting, she called upon all officials to support the district administration in its efforts to enhance service delivery and contribute towards making Lower Subansiri a high-performing district in the state.

The meeting concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the district administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety through coordinated disaster management efforts.

Among those present were SP Keni Bagra, ADC Himani Meena, SDO Hage Tarung, DDMO Nima Drema, other administrative officers, and departmental heads.
