KISAMA, Dec 4: Assam Rifles director general, Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan attended the 18th Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Elated to be a part of the festival, Lt Gen Chauhan praised the rich and vibrant culture of the state.
He said the honesty, simplicity and strength of the society is reflected through its colorful costumes, dances and songs.
Lt Gen Chauhan urged the present generation to preserve and promote the great warrior tradition, which runs in the blood of every Naga, so as to set an example for the fellow countrymen to follow.
Earlier, Lt Gen Chauhan visited the HQ IGAR (North), Kohima and reviewed the operational preparedness of the troops in the state.
He emphasized on the need for synergy of efforts at all levels among the troops and praised all for their relentless efforts towards ensuring peace and tranquility in the state.
Lt Gen Chauhan also visited the World War II Museum and Naga Art Gallery at Kisama.
