PM will be giving lip service: Congress
ITANAGAR, Feb 13: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to visit Itanagar on February 15 next, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee is anticipating the announcement of numerous sops which it said will “amount to empty vessels”.
A statement from the APCC quoted its president, Takam Sanjoy, of claiming that Modi will be giving “lip-service”.
Sanjoy said that Modi “gave the greatest slap to the Northeast by withdrawing the North East Industrial & Investment Promotion Policy offering central capital investment subsidy of 30 percent to investors and other subsidies”.
The state Congress president also said that the Pema Khandu-led BJP state government has indulged in “various anti-people policies” and even questioned the Constitutional validity of Khandu’s government.
“Khandu took oath as Congress CM after his predecessor Nabam Tuki sacrificed his chair. However, Khandu along with many Congress MLAs with manipulation switched loyalty to PPA and again to the BJP but continued without taking any oath. Is not an illegal and unconstitutional” Sanjoy added.
He also levelled serious allegations against the Centre and the state governments, accusing them of being “anti-secular, anti-religious, anti-tribal, anti-democratic and, anti-people”.
