Preparations on for school golden jubilee celebration
Maksam Tayeng PASIGHAT, Jan 12: Preparations are in full swing for the golden jubilee celebration of government higher secondary school, Ruskin.
The celebrations are tentatively fixed on January 27 next.
On Thursday, Lok Sabha member Ninong Ering and agriculture parliamentary secretary, Tatung Jamoh visited the school to oversee the preparations.
Both Ering and Jamoh inspected the school ground, to oversee the construction work, so that nothing is left unfinished by the scheduled date.
They requested the authorities concerned to complete the work on auditorium construction, fund for which was assured by Ering during 2014.
Rajiv Gandhi University assistant professor Dr David Gao, who is overseeing the preparations, lamented that the school does not have an auditorium.
He said the absence of auditorium has been an impediment for students to excel in literary and cultural activities.
East Kameng DC Rajeev Takuk, retired director secondary education, Tapang Taloh, volunteers from Women Against Social Evils and AAYANG chairman, Aini Taki Taloh and others also inspected the preparations and encouraged the volunteers working on the ground.
