ITANAGAR, Jun 21: Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona conducted a comprehensive review meeting with officials of the Directorate of Secondary Education, focusing on urgent measures to improve the state's educational landscape. The meeting was attended by MLA & advisor to the minister, Mutchu Mithi, commissioner of Education Amjad Tak, and secretary of education Duly Kamduk.

Expressing concern over the current state of education, Sona highlighted the necessity for immediate reforms to enhance academic performance. He proposed several measures, including timely Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings to fill vacant positions such as principals, headmasters, vice-principals, and other staff categories.

The minister also stressed the need to review and potentially enhance student incentives, scholarships, and quiz competitions funded by the state government. An inventory management system will be introduced, and a committee will be established to assess and address the infrastructure gaps in schools.

Efforts will be concentrated on improving elementary education to boost CBSE exam results. Sona emphasized the importance of cooperation from education department officers to achieve significant improvements.

During the meeting, officials briefed the minister on various pressing issues such as post creation and infrastructure development.
