BASAR, Jun 24: MLA of Basar Assembly constituency, Nyabi Jini Dirchi, received a warm reception from a large gathering of general public, BJP party workers, and supporters during her maiden visit to her home district after being sworn in as a Member of the Legislative Assembly on June 14. The welcome event was held at the PWD Circuit House in Basar.

The gathering included all Heads of Departments (HoDs) and Heads of Offices (HoOs), led by Ejum Angu, the in-charge deputy commissioner of Leparada.

During a brief interaction with the HoDs and officers, Dirchi called for cooperation from all stakeholders to facilitate the speedy progress and overall development of the district. She proposed convening a coordination meeting with all HoDs to gain firsthand knowledge of ongoing projects, bottlenecks, and any shortcomings. This would help in formulating comprehensive development strategies with the cooperation of all stakeholders.

Dirchi is the first female legislator from the Galo community.
