NEW DELHI, June 23: The Regional Passport Office (RPO) Guwahati has been awarded the 'Passport Seva Puraskar' during the annual Regional Passport Officers conference held in New Delhi.

Regional passport officer of Guwahati Cherakung Zeliang received the award from Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh.

The Passport Seva Puraskar recognizes the outstanding performance of Passport Offices among 37 Regional Passport Offices across the country. The evaluation criteria include grievance handling, average print and distribution time, the number of files granted on the same day, and average productivity per staff member, as set by the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Regional Passport Office, Guwahati, currently serves the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland, exemplifying excellence in service and efficiency.
