TEZU, Jun 25: A district level monitoring committee & coordination and review meeting of all heads of schools in Lohit district was convened on June 25, at the DC’s Conference Hall in Tezu.

Tezu MLA & advisor for Health & Family Welfare, Commerce and Industries, Dr Mohesh Chai, addressed the issues faced by schools in Lohit district.

He emphasised the importance of having a clear vision before constructing school buildings to ensure optimal and effective utilization of funds. Chai reiterated his commitment to bringing positive changes in the education system to ensure quality education in the district. He assured his full support to improve the educational scenario and instructed the Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE) to maintain detailed records of class 10 and 12 pass percentages and other educational data for better planning. He also announced his plan to visit all schools to gather first-hand information on their requirements and challenges.

Lohit deputy commissioner Shashvat Saurabh stressed the importance of performing optimally despite constraints. He urged all principals and headmasters to ensure that students clear their compartmental examinations to prevent dropouts.

"We will strive for a 100 percent pass rate and aim to provide quality education to our children," he stated. Saurabh also highlighted the need for teachers to track their students and coordinate effectively. He called for rationalization of teachers to ensure that all schools have the required number of educators.

Lohit deputy director of school education, Tumngam Nyodu, presented a comprehensive presentation on all schemes implemented by the department. She noted an improvement in the AISSE and AISSCE examination results in 2024 compared to 2023. Nyodu also discussed the need to augment human resources and infrastructure in various schools. Ongoing schemes under adult education, civil works under Samagra Shiksha, and reports on the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM Poshan) and other centrally sponsored schemes were presented during the meeting.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to improve the quality of education in Lohit district through collaborative efforts and strategic planning.
