AALO, July 1: The District Task Force for the Rescue of Child Labour conducted a significant operation in West Siang district from June 25 to 28 last. The operation, executed in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Aalo unit, was led by Legal & Probation officer Mijum Doke with full cooperation from the police and quick response from deputy superintendent of police Moge Bole.

Under the guidance of EAC & nodal officer Koj Tacho and DCPO Aalo, Yabi Riba Ete, the task force successfully identified 18 children and adolescents involved in hazardous employment. Four of these children were handed over to their parents or family members, and all 18 cases have been registered for further action.

Doke urged citizens to ensure that children below 14 years of age are enrolled in school. He also advised employers of adolescents aged 14 to 18 to provide all basic necessities as per the guidelines of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act. He warned that any violation of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act and constitutional laws will be punishable under the law.
