ZIRO, July 3: Local MLA Hage Appa on Wednesday urged the heads of departments (HoDs) to collaborate effectively towards making the Lower Subansiri a 'model district'.

Appa made the call during the maiden interactive meeting at the Golden Jubilee Hall of the district secretariat here.

The legislator emphasized the importance of a people-friendly approach, transparency, efficient public service delivery, positive teamwork, and collaboration as crucial elements for achieving this goal.

Stressing the significance of public interest in a democracy, Appa urged HoDs to work closely with him and the District Administration to initiate a new phase of development. He requested the District Administration to provide him with a comprehensive list of ongoing schemes in the district to facilitate coordinated efforts.

Earlier in the meeting, Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Vivek H P introduced all department heads to the MLA and briefed them on departmental operations.

He highlighted the regular District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meetings and E-Pragati sessions aimed at monitoring the implementation of centrally sponsored programs in the district.

The DC encouraged the MLA's active participation in these meetings to gain firsthand insights into program implementation and progress.

During the session, department heads discussed several operational challenges.

District Medical Officer Dr Nani Rika and Gyati Takka General Hospital medical superintendent Dr Koj Jarbo emphasized the urgent need for specialists like ENT, neurologist, forensic experts, and general medical officers across health facilities in the district.

District Tourism Officer Dikchu Raji raised concerns about inadequate signage for tourists visiting Ziro.

Co-chairing the meeting alongside the DC, additional deputy commissioner Himani Meena stressed the importance of synergy and collaboration among the MLA, district administration, and departments to achieve the coveted status of a 'model district'.

The interactive meeting was also attended by SP Keni Bagra and administrative officers from the district.
