ITANAGAR, Jul 8: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has requested the state government for a special fund package to aid areas affected by recent landslides and natural calamities. In a letter addressed to the chief minister, the ANYA highlighted the severe impact of these events, which have caused significant loss of life, displacement of families, and extensive damage to infrastructure and livelihoods.

The letter called for immediate relief distribution of essential supplies such as food, clean water, clothing, and medical assistance. It also urged the establishment of temporary shelters and rehabilitation centers for displaced families, along with the allocation of funds for the repair and reconstruction of damaged roads, bridges, and public utilities.

Additionally, the letter stressed the need for adequate medical and psychological support for those traumatized by the disasters and measures to revive local economies and support affected individuals in resuming their livelihoods.

Given the hardship faced by the affected people, ANYA has requested a special fund package from the government.

Specific instances of damage mentioned include road damage near Kurung Bridge due to landslides and public property damage caused by the Kameng river flood. The ANYA has appealed for the immediate allocation of funds to restore public property.

The letter emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for swift action to alleviate the suffering of those affected. ANYA has expressed its readiness to collaborate with government agencies and contribute to relief efforts.

The association has urged all government departments to enforce strict implementation of relief measures to ensure compliance across the state.
