PASIGHAT, Jul 10: The East Siang District Level Committee (DLC) meeting-cum-workshop was held today at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Pasighat under the chairmanship of ADC (HQ) Tatling Pertin. The meeting aimed to select the One District One Product (ODOP) for East Siang under the mandate of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industries. The department is the implementing agency in the state.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders from various departments, including textile and handicraft, agriculture, horticulture, veterinary, ARSRLM, and renowned district entrepreneur Mohanto Pangging.

Addressing the gathering, Pertin described ODOP as a valuable government initiative, emphasizing that selecting the appropriate product would boost the district's economy. He urged stakeholder departments to provide authentic data for selecting the appropriate product based on parameters suggested by the Project Management Unit (PMU).

In his address, DDI Pasighat Matsam Jamoh briefed attendees on the objective of the DLC meeting. The discussion included potential products, and Revant Bhattacharjee, consultant PMU (ODOP) from E&Y LLP, highlighted the scheme's features. Identified potential products from the district include textiles, rice, areca nut, ginger, turmeric, and jaggery.
