TAWANG, July 11: Tawang deputy commissioner Kanki Darang on Thursday felicitated district toppers in Classes VIII, X and XII and best performing schools during a meeting with all the heads of schools and school adopters of Tawang and Kyidphel block.
Addressing the students, teachers and school adopters of 29 schools, the DC congratulated the district toppers and their teachers for the performance.
This year, we could not upgrade the toppers list but we have increased the pass percentage, he said.
He asked the teachers and the students to work harder to achieve better results.
We have to find the reasons behind the poor performance by one or two schools and work on it for improvement to secure better results in the coming examinations, he said.
Expressing concern over the acute shortage of science teachers, Darang asked officers with science and mathematics background to spare little time to teach in school, so that the regular classes of students are not hampered till some arrangements for regular teachers are made.
He asked the heads of schools to ensure that every teacher assigns homework to students, this will keep the continuity of study at home, he added.
During the interaction session, the heads of schools presented their achievements and grievances.
The school adopters presented their school visit and activity report and also gave valuable inputs in improving the overall development of their adopted schools.
DDSE in-charge Dondup praised the DC and school adopters for their concern for the improvement of the education scenario of the district.
He appealed to the teachers to cooperate and re-dedicate themselves for the making of future citizens of the nation.
